The Seaforth has been through a number of guises.

Our position at the harbour entrance has played a main influence in our development and our influence can also be seen on the harbour and area around us.

We have spent time as a fish and coal store for the steam boats that used to sail from Ullapool, a chandlery supplying the boats and harbour, and a smoke house.

In the 60s and 70s we were a pub and inn, and during the 80s the upstairs served as offices for the fish agents dealing with the East European "Klondyke" fishing fleet that anchored in Loch Broom.

The current owners come from Ullapool and undertook a development plan to expand the premises and promote the village, local food, and entertainment.

Our initial expansion saw the bar grow and the cafe upstairs expand to allow full meals and functions to be held. The kitchens underwent a major refit to expand upon our reputation for quality food. We also expanded the chip shop from being a hatchway at the side of the building to a standalone facility with waiting area and a full range of meals.

Along with this we established a reputation for music and entertainment, seeing a comprehensive range of acts perform and gaining recognition in 1999 and 2002 by commendations for our music from the Scottish Licensed Trade News.

We now cater for the ferry traffic travelling to and from Lewis, visiting fishermen on the international boats visiting the harbour, local daily trade and visitors passing through or visiting Ullapool wanting a friendly drink, snack or meal.
