The landscape and nature of the area offers many opportunities for things to do and see.

Driving through the Highlands brings with it endless breathtaking views and scenery. There are numerous stops around the area such as Corrieshalloch Falls, a gorge and waterfall 12 miles south of the village, and walks ranging from sedate, loch side strolls to more energetic climbs catered for with parking facilities to start from such as Stac Polleigh 15 miles north.

Around the village there are lots of shops selling local produce and crafts, and the museum in Ullapool supplies multi-language audio facilities and presentations about the area and our history.

The harbour has a local prawn fleet landing daily, and we are visited by boats from throughout the world landing white fish, crab and more exotic deep Atlantic species.

There are boat trips and activity trips available locally - from the harbour and around the village. Details can be found from people in The Seaforth when you visit.

The Summer Queen sails from late Spring to late Summer from the harbour.

Trips take in Loch Broom and The Summer Isles, morning sailings land on Tanera whilst afternoon trips take in the bay out from Ullapool and circle Isle Martin and the salmon farms. A huge selection of birdlife are encountered on these trips along with seals, dolphins and whales.

The local leisure centre offers swimming, climbing wall, gym and a sports hall. There's also a 9-hole golf course at the back of the village. The MacPhail centre puts on a lot of art exhibitions and shows.

At the end of summer the Loopallu festival turns the village into a great music event that is rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the seasons must do music events. Similarly, the Ullapool Guitar Festival has established itself as a hot spot for musicians and fans alike. Both events feature on our calendar and we put on bands and artists from both.
